Yasmina
has performed MiddleEastern dance for many years, both locally and
abroad. She has a Masters Degree in Dance from American University
and regularly dances with the Washington National Opera in the Kennedy
Center. She has choreographed and performed special dances for the
Embassies of Kuwait and Qatar including one for Alma Powell. She has
also performed for the embassies of Egypt, Russia, Singapore, and
at the Yemini Ambassador's residence. Yasmina recently danced for Yasmina performed and taught at the Walters Art Gallery
in Baltimore for their 'Orientalism in America' exhibit. In New Delhi
India she performed solo along with the Egyptian National Folk Dance
Troupe for a festival celebrating relations between India and Egypt.
Yasmina has performed in every Arabic club in the area as well as
in Arabic restaurants such as Casablanca and Aladdin.She has danced
in local concerts for singing stars such as Assi Al Helani and Mehdat
Saleh among others. The Washington Post's Weekend section praised
Yasmina in a feature issue on bellydancing on April 27, 2001. She
brings a wide range of cultural experience, both artistic and academic
to her performance.
